This privacy policy explains how Lamont Johnson Ltd or ‘we’ use personal information we collect about you. This will depend on whether you are a (1) Seller (2) Buyer or (3) signed up to our mailing list.

(1) Seller

We collect and use your personal data so we can advise you on the selling process itself and give an indication asto potential values of your home/homes.

The information we require for this is collected during an initial phone call and/or exchange of subsequent emails, and consists of your name, care home address and contact details.

We do not inform potential buyers of your details until it becomes necessary- e.g. in order to progress an enquiry or sales

We may also contact you directly to follow up on the service and user experience we provide.

We may also share details of your sale via our website, newsletter, Linkedin and other promotional materials; we will let you know we are doing this, and you can always object should you wish. We would never disclose the actual purchase price.

We believe this collection and uses of your personal data is in your interests, our interests, and those of our buyer. We therefore process this data on the basis of legitimate interests.

(2)Buyer

We collect and use your personal data so we can (i) match you to the most suitable opportunities and (ii) to contact you about these opportunities both now and in the future.

The information we require for this is outlined on our Applicant Registration Form.

We inform the sellers

  • about you as an applicant, i.e., name, company name, whether a first time buyer or existing operator, and your general location, i.e., London, Birmingham etc.
  • as to whether you can complete a transaction at this price level.
  • Note: no financial information is given to the seller.

We may also contact you directly to follow up on the service and user experience we provide.

We believe this collection and uses of your personal data is in your interests, our interests, and those of our sellers. We therefore process this data on the basis of legitimate interests.

(3) Mailing list

If you provide your email address to join our mailing list, we will use it to send updates of what we have sold recently, on a monthly basis.

In providing us with your email address, you’ve taken a positive action agreeing that we can use

the email address for this marketing purpose. We therefore rely on consent to process the data for this purpose.

Information Security

 We store completed forms on our computer recording system (ACT) which is encrypted to industry standards.

How long will we store your data?

If we provide any paid for products or services to you, we are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.

Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

With whom does Lamont Johnson share your information?

 We will only disclose your personal information where necessary or required by law, i.e. (i) to other companies within our group of companies, (ii) business partners, (iii) government bodies and law enforcement agencies, (iv) successors in title to our business (i.e. if Lamont Johnson Ltd is ever sold to another company) and (v) suppliers we engage to process data on our behalf.

 Subject Access: you can ask us whether we are keeping personal data about you and request a copy by
